North Fork 338

This is another of the HG (heavy game) line.  The 338-240 is more heavily constructed than either the 200 or 225 grain 338.  It’s best use is for elk and up; elk, moose, big bear, African plains game.  The last photo shows two bullets recovered from a Newfoundland moose.  The cartridge was a 338-378 Wby.  Muzzle velocity was almost 3200fps.  The first shot was at 75 yds and angled through the neck and lodged in the far shoulder, penetration 36”.  The second shot was a finisher at 3 feet, down through the top of the neck and into the chest.
