This bullet was designed for all around usefulness in the full range of 7mm cartridges. It is an excellent all around choice for 7-08 through the 7mm hyper-magnums. In fact the only bullet that was reported to have been retrieved was used on an elk from a 7mmSTW. That bullet is pictured on the far right of the last picture. Although I personally would prefer the 284-160 for elk, the 284-140 appears to have performed quite well.
