   It is generally accepted that flat-point bullets will be the point design least likely to be deflected when encountering animal flesh and bone. or any other penetrable material. This results in greater straight-line penetration which is needed in hunting dangerous game, such as elephants.
   
   It is also the only banded bullet on the market that is of such a diameter that the solid shank part of the bullet is not displaced by the barrel rifling, holding true to the original German concept. The bands provide an excellent gas seal and minimal barrel wear.
   
   In my experience with a 470 Nitro Express double rilfe the 500 gr. bullet results in great penetration on elephant at the nominal velocity of 2,150 fps with relatively low pressure and exceedingly good and consistent accuracy. It is the solid of choice for the serious dangerous game hunter.
